About the Wine
From sixty-year-old vines in the lieu-dit of Les Damodes, near the village of Nuits St Georges, this is a wine that combines power and elegance along with a natural flair. Cossard is an icon of natural winemaking in the otherwise conservative Cote d'Or in Burgundy, sourcing fruit from like-minded organic and biodynamic producers across the region. After hand-picking and fermentation in open-top vessels with wild yeasts and whole bunches, the grapes are transferred without racking to old oak barrels for aging. Bottled without fining or filtering, with no sulphites or preservatives. A spice and mineral-driven wine well worth laying down for a few years!
